Alex's Wedding

I haven't had a chance to write about this, but a couple of weeks ago, the family and I spent Thanksgiving on the road.
The trip out was not fun, we drove from home to Holly's dads in WV on Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving. OK, if ever you decide to take a road trip, take my advice and avoid driving on this day! Especially, when it is snowing!
We left home about 5 AM Wednesday morning and expected to arrive at Holly's Dad's around 6 PM. That gave us a couple extra hours for stops and such. 4 hours later, we were still in Indiana in standstill trafiic. We ended up doing a U-turn to get off at an exit we just passed (30 minutes to go less then a mile) and drove for the next hour on a 2 lane highway. We got back on 70 around Columbus, OH and it took us an hour to get through the city. So we got back off and drove most of the way on 2 lane highways.
We actually made pretty good time and saw some really cute little towns and older homes.
We finally got to WV around 10 PM. Luckily, the next day was very nice. We had a great dinner and an enjoyable stay.
Friday morning, we left around 7 and drove up to CT (we stayed in Hartford, CT). The rest of the family had never been to the NE before, so this was a first. They got to go through NJ, NY, CT, and MA. The drive up was very nice, very little traffic and all was good.
We got minorly lost driving from the hotel to the rehersal. I neglected to bring my computer's battery charger, so I couldn't log on to get the maps.
Rehersal was very nice as was dinner afterwards. It had been a long time since we'd seen Tina, so it was a lot of fun.
The wedding was absolutely gorgegous, everyone looked great. You can see pictures at Alex and Tina's Wedding. Reception was great as well... we had a 5 course meal, dancing, good conversation... it was perfect!
The next morning we got up bright and early and started the trip home. Most of it went great again, until he got about 80 miles north of Columbus, OH again and hit stopped traffic. So, once again we got off the highway onto a 2 lane highway and made our way home. Around Dayton, the traffic on 70 started moving again, so we got back on. All said, we got home at 10 PM.. so another 16 hour drive.
It was a long drive, but well worth it!
