Incredible, we just received a bill from the IRS saying that we owe $42,000 from the sale of a house we did in 2001. We ended up selling the house for less then the home value and somehow the mortgage company claimed that they forgave the entire loan amount, so we have to treat that as income ($124,000).

It's so outragious that it is almost comical. Of course, unlike our legal system, I am "guilty" until proven innocent. So instead of the mortgage company having to prove that they forgave the entire amount, I have to prove that they didn't.

Sigh... know any good tax lawyers?

Not too much going on this weekend. Broderick's Birthday party is being moved to Sunday as more kids could come (a lot were in a Cub Scout camping trip Saturday afternoon). That will give us more time to get stuff done to the house.

I pretty much have the wall studs all built for the upstairs and I have a few pieces of drywall that I can hang downstairs in the dining room. (At least, 1/2 of the room would have drywall hung).

Good week at work.. got some stuff done, although it didn't feel like the most productive week ever. Mainly because I was working on a couple of bigger projects that took up a lot of time.

We had a new db developer start on Monday, so welcome aboard Sameer!

Oh! I am working on setting up a new website... nothing there yet really.. but it is http://raves-n-rants.com. The idea is a place for people to comment on restaraunts, Drs, auto repair places, etc, etc... It will be totally free to use and I hope to generate income from Ads...

If anyone out there wants to help me design better looking CSS files... I would love the help!

Sorry that I haven't posted in awhile! I am going to make a big effort to try to post something everyday... but we'll see how long that keeps up!

Well, I've dropped to 2nd place in our yahoo football pickem pool. Last weekend, I logged on Sat morning to make my picks (normally, the deadline is Sunday) and I didn't know that a game had been moved to Friday due to Hurricane Wilma... so that locked me out of this week...

This year has been an incredible year for natural disasters... when you think about it, it really makes you wonder... well... at least, it makes me wonder if someone upstairs is unhappy with things. I haven't heard any statistics, but I do wonder how this year compares to previous years in terms of deaths and dollars damage.

This last weekend was my church's Open House. Vineyard. I don't know how many people came in total, but I was working the door Friday night and saw several people from Work.

The Vineyard just finished a huge expansion.. so this was the community Open House for people to see what it was like.

I stopped by Human Kinetics yesterday over lunch and said Hi to Mitch and Lissette... It was fun to see everyone, although not many people in my old group are still there..

Work on the house is coming along, I've been putting up studs for the walls in the upstairs bathroom and laundary room and this morning finished the steps onto the porch on the west. (We had been using concrete blocks).

Tonight is Holly's Grandmothers B-day party, so happy b-day G-ma!

This weekend, Broderick turns 8 and so he is having a party Sat for his little "military buddies". The theme this year is, you guessed it, Military!

I've finally found what I think is the best domain name for my house hunting website... HomeZula.com. I'm not really sure where the name came from, but as I was trying to find a shorter name then MidWestHouseHunter.com.. this one just kinda happened...

I started advertising with it this week in the local paper and I got the 2nd highest # of web hits ever in a day, so I think it is a hit. I had 2 people create accounts...

Now, I need to start calling Home Owners and get them to list their houses themselves. They get the first week free.. I am thinking of telling people that if they add HomeZula.com to their newspaper ads, I'll give them a 50% discount or something (maybe a free week)... that should be great advertising...
