Still no Baby and Taxes are done!

Sunday, February 25, 2007

Well... it is Sunday night. A week ago tonight, we were preparing to go into the hospital to have the baby induced. After 2 1/2 days of trying we stopped and here we are. :)

I'll quote a letter from Holly,
"Subject: I bet you're wondering...if the baby has come yet and you just didn't get notified....the answer is....

HELL NO!
She is evidentally a stubborn thing (I don't know where she gets that from) who is wanting to be fashionably late.
Here's what's going on. I went in to be induced on Monday (as I was already 10 days late) and by Wednesday morning...nothing was progressing. I had the contractions going for two days but there was no dilating of the cervix, so thankfully I got to be sent home. I went to the Dr. that afternoon for an ultrasound and the baby is doing fine but it is showing the placenta is aging therefore the baby needs to come out. I went back to see the Dr. today for an NST (non stress test) where they hook me up to monitors to check the babies heart rate and movements, again she's doing fine and truthfully the Dr. thought I would have had her by now. The current plan (other than the obvious of simply going into labor on my own which my Dr. is convinced won't happen) is to go back for another NST on Tues. afternoon and schedule another induction on Wed. if that doesn't progress again then she's going to do a c-section because by Fri. I will be 43 weeks and she won't let me go that long as it's detrimental for the baby, not to mention my mental health.
Now you are all up to date on what's going on with me and this stubborn baby. I'll keep you posted if anything changes.
Holly"

On the plus side, I got our taxes done today. Amazing how I put this off and put it off and then do it, and it takes less then a hour... go figure. :)

Labor Day 1, muddy drive

Monday, February 19, 2007

Well, we've spent 15 hours in the hospital now and still no baby. Labor hasn't progressed much and they are stopping the medicine tonight and will start back up at 6 AM.

The temperature today got up to the upper 30s and turned our temporary field drive-way into a mud pit. Hopefully tonight it will freeze back up, but tomorrow I am going to have to find someone to plow it out.

Snow plowing and Jumers

Saturday, February 17, 2007

I got called into IDOT this morning at 7 Am and spent the day playing snow on 57. It was fun! It's nice to be able to actually plow snow instead of just sitting waiting for something to happen (which is what happened the last time I went in.

Since the roads were drifting, I finally convinced Holly that we should spend the night in town, so we ended up staying at the old Jumers in downtown Urbana. I love that hotel... especially the lobby. We didn't eat there, but I wonder if the food is good again...

Going in Monday!

Friday, February 16, 2007

If the baby isn't born before then, we'll go in Monday to induce labor. It's a week past due, although I suspect that our due date was wrong to begin with.

They are calling for another 3 inches of snow tomorrow, so hopefully nothing happens while we are snowed in...

winter is finally here!

Thursday, February 15, 2007

This week, we've had over 15 inches of snow with some pretty heavy winds. The lane is totally closed and I had to plow a path through the fields to get out. It makes for some fun snow playing though! We took the kids up to Orchard Downs for sledding.

There are drifts around the shed that are around 5 feet high.. reminds me of some of the storms we had back in the 70s when I was a kid.
