Misc ramblings, rants, and raves by a midwestern boy who dreams of someday getting bigger.

What a great weekend!! Sweet corn festival.

Monday, August 27, 2007

The weather this weekend was perfect. I bought some used computer parts from someone at work and built a new computer for Broderick Sat morning. He went from an 800 mhz computer to a 2.4 ghz. I am going to use his old computer as a file server on our network. Hopefully, this will last him for a few years.

Saturday afternooon, we all went to the Urbana Sweetcorn festival. Bridget and Broderick both attacked the rock-climbing wall and Bridget loved it, going back twice. They had some really neat old cars (including some from 1908 & 1909).

Broderick spend the night at his friend Austins Saturday. Sunday night, we meet Trent and Harrison in Le Roy and took Harrison back down to Eastern. I also got some mowing done and electrified part of Lefty's fence.

Overall, a very nice weekend. :)

Great day at Thunder Rapids WaterPark

Monday, August 13, 2007

We had a great day playing in the sun (which I am sure I'll pay for, the next few days) at the water park near St Louis. Everyone had a great time and we even had the treat of running into Holly's Aunt Joyce!! It is so weird how those types of things seems to keep happening to me!!

Actively Job Searching

Well, I've been actively searching for a couple of weeks now. I've interviewed for positions in Charleston SC, Bloomington IL, RTP NC, and Champaign IL. I really hate to leave Wolfram in a lot of ways, but my manager has become completely unresponsive and after the huge re-organization at the beginning of June, it just isn't nearly as fun as it used to be. A lot of my co-workers are getting very frustrated as well, which feeds into it.

I have a phone interview on Tuesday for HRIS in Orlando FL. Generally, I've been looking at Project manager, Business Analyst, Information Systems Manager, and HRIS jobs. I've also applied for a few Discoverer Reports Writer positions, but I doubt that they will pay enough to do anything with them. I am also trying to avoid all the short term gigs.

Oh! I got my grades back from the summer class I took, A! So, my GPA for my Masters is still a 4.0!

Today, we are heading down to a water park by St Louis to splish-splash before school starts next week.
