Lucy's first words!

Thursday, January 17, 2008

I'm not sure if this is a sign of things to come, but Lucy's first official words are 'Uh Oh' which she started saying today with Holly at the Fitness Club Day Care.

It's pretty cute, she's been babbling for awhile, but this is the first clear thing she's said. :)

Videos posted!

I finally figured out how to upload some videos of Lucy :)

If you'd like to see them, you have a couple of options... One is YouTube

Or, there are links on http://thebarnharts.org/videos (from here, you can download the videos that will look much better when playing them).

Taking her steps and first Christmas

Lucy is really become mobile. She cruises all the furniture and loves to walk while holding someone's hand. We got her a little walker toy a earlier this month and she enjoys it (although she hasn't figured out yet how to turn).

But, she is really taking off on her own as well. I was talking with mom yesterday morning and Lucy walked across the room, which is the farthest I've seen her go. She is very focused and gets mad when things don't quite go her way.

This was her first Christmas and she enjoyed it. Of course, she had no idea how to unwrap a present, but she had a good time playing with her toys. We took some video of her walking and opening presents. Hopefully, someday, we'll figure out how to post them. :)

Lucy's first steps on her own!

Tuesday, November 27, 2007

Lucy took her first steps unaided today! She was standing next to holly and took 3 steps over to the sofa where Bridget was sitting.

She is such a cruiser, she reminds me of her cousin Austin (which is a good thing) she is just fearless.

We have to keep an eye on her as she loves to climb up the stairs and when she falls (not off the stairs, but in general) she'll sit down, cry for a moment, get right up and try again. Her gumption is just amazing to me!!!

Starting to stand on her own!

Sunday, November 25, 2007

There are a few times recently when we've looked over and Lucy is standing on her own. It normally doesn't last more then 30 seconds or so, but I don't think it will be much longer before she is on her own!

She has enjoyed walking around for the last few weeks with someone holding on to each hand, but yesterday, she was doing it with only one hand being held!

We put up another gate Friday so that we can keep her isolated to one section of the house (and Sam in another).

Stair Climbing Girl

Saturday, November 10, 2007

Lucy is growing so much, that I haven't been able to keep up with everything.

She now has 5 teeth (3 on the bottom and 2 on top) and she has a serious attitude. She knows what she wants and she won't stop until she gets it.. which I think is a good thing.

She is growing.. about 17 lbs 9 oz and 28 inches long.

Today, she started climbing the stairs and she can cruise right up them. Obviously, we only let her do it when we are right there. Now, we have to teach her how to climb down them as well.

Pulled herself up tonight and sat upright

Wednesday, September 19, 2007

Lucy did a couple of Milestones tonight!

First of all, she was 'crawling' around. By crawling, I mean pulling herself around by her front arms, although she is starting to move her knees under herself, one in front of the other. So, she was crawling around and then sat back on her butt, and then sat upright.

She has been sitting by herself for sometime, but we always had to set her there. This is the first time we've seen her sit upright herself!!

A little later tonight, she was climbing around on Holly and pulled herself up onto her feet! She was definitely wobbly, but she did it!

Our little girl is growing up!!

2nd tooth breaking through!

Wednesday, September 05, 2007

Lucy's second tooth is starting to break through. Our little girl is starting to grow up and becoming quite the chomper. She is so much wanting to crawl as well! She really scoots around on her stomach and can sit for a couple of minutes without support.

My goodness, when did she get so big!

She goes in for her 6 month check-up on Friday, so I'll let you know how big she is getting!
